A time-limited digital competition in three countries. By linking mobile coupons to a gamification campaign, Pågen got consumers both to compete and to try new products.
"Gamification is a good way to create greater engagement among our consumers. People spend time with the brand in an enjoyable way," says Lidija Baljak, Senior Trade Marketing Manager at Pågen. Consumers solved a time-limited digital puzzle via a QR code and social media to compete for a roof box and other prizes.

"By adding mobile coupons to the competition, we can create awareness and trial purchases of our gifflar while driving traffic to stores," explains Lidija.
"With Activate Interactive, we can tailor the campaign to each supplier's needs. And if these activities are also linked to attractive coupon offers or unique codes, you drive traffic to stores and create even greater interest in the brand," says Cecilia Johansson, Key Account Manager at Clearon.

The campaign was run with identical mechanics in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, adapted only for language in each market. In Sweden, the competition was combined with digital sampling coupons that let consumers collect free gifflar at their grocery store – a combination of play, awareness and concrete trial purchases.
A playful digital puzzle made it fun for consumers to interact with the brand.
By linking mobile coupons to the game, engagement was turned directly into trial purchases and store visits.
The same campaign set-up could be run identically in three countries, adapted only for language.
